Our third floor terrace is buzzing with action, from an observation hive of honeybees to the ‘Bee and Bee’ pollinator hotel providing habitat for the hundreds of species of solitary bees (our super pollinators) native to British Columbia.

Fairmont Waterfront is proud to be an original member of the Ocean Wise program and encourages guests to select from the many sustainable options on our menus. Ocean Wise is a conservation program created to educate and empower consumers about the issues surrounding sustainable seafood.

Fairmont Waterfront is a founding signatory of the OceanWise Plastic Wise Pledge, encouraging the reduction of single-use plastic waste in particular through education on the consumption of Vancouver’s mountain-fresh tap water.

GROWING CHEFS

Each fall, members of the hotel’s culinary team visit a nearby inner city school in partnership with local non-profit Growing Chefs. Working hands-on with grade one classes, our chefs teach kids about nutrition and gardening through fun cooking and educational activities.

WASTE DIVERSION

Fairmont Waterfront diverts its waste away from landfill by recycling, composting, donating, and repurposing as much as possible. We work closely with RecycleSmart to track and monitor our diversion efforts.
