Valentine’s Day in Vancouver

A Vancouver Love Letter

While Valentine’s Day typically boasts of roses, chocolates, and candlelit amor, aside from the extravagance, it offers the perfect opportunity to take a moment to dedicate some quality time to the ones you love. Whether you are with those who are important to you or there are oceans between you, it’s an opportunity to pause and reflect on cherished feelings and memories. Love makes the world go round (perhaps not scientifically, but certainly in our minds) so remember to take the time to be present with yourself or the ones who hold space in your heart this February 14th.

Of course, date night is great, but this time of year is also an opportunity to spread the love far and wide, be it with friends, family, or fur babies! Here are a few other date ideas for Valentine’s day (or honestly, anytime) to add some special moments together into your celebrations. Just call us Cupid.

PUPPY LOVE

Walk with your loved ones!

At Fairmont Waterfront we know that pets are part of the family, so bring Rover along on your next getaway and we’ll roll out the red carpet! Tails will be wagging thanks to our complimentary welcome treats, and your pup will feel right at home with their very own comfy bed and bowls.

Should they choose to leave the comfort of their cushy hotel throne, the Stanley Park seawall is just a block away, and we even have our very own route guide created in collaboration with RunGo for you to try out if you’re looking for a specific experience or distance. See our routes here.

Prefer a spot catered to your furry friend? Crab Park is only a 15 minute walk from our property and offers a grassy off-leash area and a swimming beach.

A little quality time with your loyal sidekick is always time well spent, and we believe they deserve to feel the love on February 14th too!

BRING YOUR BFF’S

If it’s been a while since you’ve been out with your people (or potentially out of your sweatpants), it’s time to get the band back together for an epic Pal-entine’s gathering. Take in the views at our rooftop pool, melt away stress in the hot tub and indulge in ARC’s Happy Hour (to be followed by breakfast in bed, naturally) and plan the perfect staycation.

Looking to explore a little? Vancouver’s iconic Gastown is only a short stroll from the hotel and caters to an array of interests – shop till you drop at eclectic boutiques, challenge your crew to a delicious cooking class, take pictures along the old-style streets, or maybe even find a new hidden shop gem to explore among the many side streets and hidden alcoves.

A FAMILY AFFAIR

With both Valentine’s Day and Family Day in February, there’s no better time for a little break from the day-to-day with the little ones. Kids robes and slippers are available upon request for a cozy trip to the pool (with 360 degree views).

For a unique experience, FlyOver Canada is just across the street and offers the perfect child-friendly activity for a rainy afternoon.

Sweeten the deal with a visit to ARC Restaurant for a delicious meal. The whole family will love dunking fruit, pretzels, macaroons, and even mini donuts into ARC’s Belgian Chocolate Fondue, a sweet treat that’s definitely a team effort! Enjoy the ambiance with our rotating live local musicians Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights from 7:00-11:00pm, and Saturday and Sunday Mornings from 10:30am-2:30pm.

Fairmont truly loves February! Experience the grandest of romantic feelings at Fairmont Waterfront among a laidback and luxurious West Coast setting with easy access to everything in downtown Vancouver.
