Effective December 23, 2021, in accordance with the latest British Columbia Public Health Order, organized indoor social gatherings will not be permitted and table capacity in ARC Restaurant + Bar is limited to a maximum of 6 guests with no mingling between tables.

Effective September 13, 2021, British Columbia’s Provincial Health Officer has made proof of vaccination mandatory to enter certain businesses in the province. All guests aged 12 years and older wishing to dine in ARC Restaurant + Bar are required to show proof of vaccination. Adults 18 and older must also present a matching, valid photo ID. Face coverings are required for all colleagues and patrons in all indoor spaces.

Welcoming, safeguarding and taking care of others is at the very heart of what we do and who we are. Here’s what’s open at Fairmont Waterfront:

ARC RESTAURANT + BAR: ARC offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch as well as festive dining events. Proof of vaccination along with a photo ID are mandatory and tables will have a maximum of 6 guests per the latest British Columbia Public Health Order. Mingling between tables is not permitted, and masks are required any time guests are not seated at their table.

POOL + HEALTH CLUB: The fitness centre, rooftop pool and indoor hot tub will be open daily from 6:00am to 10:00pm. The hot tub is limited to one party at a time to ensure social distancing, and masks are required when entering, exiting and travelling around the indoor space.

HOUSEKEEPING: Please note that daily housekeeping service is available upon request between 9am-3:30pm daily. Should you wish to have your room refreshed, please let us know 24 hours in advance by dialing ‘0’ on your guest room phone. Should you require additional amenities during your stay, please dial ‘0’ and a member of our team would be pleased to assist.

GUESTS & VISITORS: We understand the importance of sharing experiences with family and friends, however in order to comply with BC Public Health Orders and fire code regulations, please kindly note the following guest occupancy maximums, inclusive of registered guests; four (4) persons per room, and six (6) persons per suite. All non-registered persons are not permitted in guest rooms and suites after 10pm.

What to expect on arrival

Screening will be required at check-in and each time you enter the building and/or join us at the restaurant, which may include a temperature check. 
For your safety and ours, face coverings are mandated for all employees and guests in all indoor public spaces.

VACCINE PASSPORT FAQs

Can I still check into the hotel if I am not vaccinated? 

Proof of vaccination will not be required for hotel guests to check into the hotel and while in their guest room, however hotel guests 12 years of age and older will still be required to show proof of vaccination to visit ARC Restaurant, Bar & Patio, pool & fitness centre and to attend any meetings or events with 50 or more attendees.

Where in the hotel will require proof of vaccination?

Who will be checking my proof of vaccination?  

Fairmont Waterfront will have designated staff members with access to the BC Vaccine Card Verifier App, which is a secure and confidential way for businesses to scan and confirm proof of vaccination.

Who will have access to my personal health information?

The program put in place by the BC PHO utilizes a secure and confidential verification app, which is meant to scan and confirm proof of vaccination without having to share any personal health information. Will proof of vaccination be required to visit the pool/fitness centre?

At this time, guests staying at Fairmont Waterfront are required to show proof of vaccination to enjoy the pool or fitness centre facilities.

Will you be canceling my booking if I am unable to show proof of vaccination? 

At this time, Fairmont Waterfront will not cancel any reservations unless otherwise instructed by the BC Provincial Health Officer.

Can I still make a reservation if I am unable to show proof of vaccination? 

At this time, Fairmont Waterfront is still accepting all overnight hotel reservations and will not require proof of vaccination to check into the hotel or while in your guest room.

When does this proof of vaccine mandate go into effect? 

The BC Vaccination Card program will begin on September 13, 2021, requiring proof of receiving the first shot of the vaccine. As of October 24, proof of both vaccine shots will be required. This mandate is to be in effect until January 31, 2022 and is subject to extension.

How do I show my proof of vaccination? 

(BC Residents): Prior to your arrival, please ensure you have completed the online registration for your BC Vaccination Card. This can be done on the BC PHO proof of vaccination website.

(Non-BC Residents): Travellers visiting BC from outside of the province will also be required to show proof of vaccination, and further information regarding how to show proof of vaccination for non-BC residents can be found here.

How long will this vaccination policy be in place? 

The BC Vaccination Card program will be in effect until January 31, 2022 and is subject to extension.

Do I need proof of vaccination to attend a wedding/event at the hotel? 

This will be dependent on the size of the event. BC Public Health has confirmed that any event with more than 50 people in attendance must require proof of vaccination. 

I am a long time loyal customer of Fairmont Waterfront, can an exemption be made for me during my upcoming stay? 

At this time, only children under the age of 12 who are not yet eligible for vaccination will be exempt from the proof of vaccination order, as per the mandate put in place by BC Provincial Health.

I am unable to receive the vaccine due to health/religious reasons, can an exemption be made for me during my upcoming stay?

Public Space Access

Guests will see ALL Safe and Well signage and digital communications visible throughout the property encouraging social distancing, hand washing and use of sanitizer. All common spaces and guest rooms throughout our hotel are cleaned to the highest standards by specially trained, professional housekeepers, using EPA registered disinfecting chemicals proven effective in preventing the transmission of all viruses and pathogens, including COVID-19.

Meetings & Events

Our meetings and event team will collaborate with planners to re-imagine their meetings with new meeting sets, food service protocols and entertainment/team building options that enable social distancing and reduce the number of guests touching surfaces and equipment. Heightened cleanliness standards will be in place within our meeting space and our colleagues will be cleaning areas more frequently during meeting sessions and event breaks. Our staff will be provided the appropriate personal protective equipment, such as masks to keep your attendees and our colleagues safe.

Our colleagues will each receive COVID-19 related training and retooling with guidance and reminders to: Stay home if not well, wash hands repeatedly and thoroughly, wear masks while at work and follow all safety protocols for their particular responsibilities and guest interactions. All colleagues will participate in mandatory health screenings which include temperature checks upon entrance to the hotel.  It’s important to us that both our guests and our colleagues are safe and well.
